A Day Of ~Almost~ Meatless Meals

Hello everyone!
I haven't made a post in a while, so to make up for it, I decided to forget about makeup or fashion for a minute and talk about my eating habits.
So as you all know, in my NYR post, I wanted to take up a healthier lifestyle of eating and exercise. The exercise bit isn't really working out, but I'm in love with the healthier food options that are available!

I tried to go all vegetarian, but its very challenging, so I decided to give up red meat and chicken for the time being. Being a pescatarian hasn't been challenging so far♥

For Breakfast: Poached eggs with a quarter of an avocado, no toast.
Eggs are very high in protein, and digest quickly making them virtually calorie free. Whenever I try new regimens my grandmother always suggest eggs because of that reason. The avocado is packed with healthy fats and omega threes. They're really high calorie so you don't want to eat more than 1 in a day.

For Lunch: Tuna salad on wheat bread with beet salad.
Fish is a wonderful food! It's full of the same nutrients avocados posses, but also give you a nice blast of protein. It can also be prepared many ways making it great so even the pickiest of eaters! The beet salad is combination of 2 beets, 2 carrots, and an orange. You shred the veggies on a cheese grater and squeeze the orange on top. Beets are an amazing vegetable. It has a great source of fiber and is an immunity booster against cancers. The fuchsia color is also to die for!

For Dinner: Mushroom Quesadilla with salsa and avocado.
Mushroom are basically imitation meat. They have all of the same health benefits, without the cruelty or unhealthy fats! Chop up mushrooms in little baby pieces with some green onions, feta cheese, and cilantro and grill in a pan, or do as I do and use a George Forman grill!
There's no need to buy store bought salsa when you can make it yourself! Dice up tomatoes, onions, and a jalapeno (if you're feeling frisky) in a food processor with lemon juice and salt for taste. Mix in parsley and cilantro by hand and you're good to go!

For Snacks:
Never eat anything heavy for a snack. Keep them minimal because the meals are supposed to be the most filling. What I do is eat small fruits like clementines, pieces of apple and almond butter, and cheese sticks. Hard boiled eggs are also perfect since they're filling and are virtually calorie free! Never drink sodas or juices that you buy in carton. They're full of sugar. What's the point of drinking calories?? When you do crave a sweet drink I suggest fruit flavored teas, Kambucha juices, or juice that is 100% with no sugar added. Exploring Whole Foods or Trader Joes for these things is fun, but also insightful on how gross the things you used to drink were.

Helpful Tips For Vegetarian/Pescatarian Lifestyles:
-Make sure you eat! Never starve yourself for results. It's never the answer.
-Eat Protein! Proteins are an essential in surviving. If you don't eat them your skin starts to dull, and your hair and teeth become weak. Proteins can be found in meats, beans, soy products, cheese and yogurt, and nuts/seeds.

Well, that's my new diet! I hope y'all got some inspiration♥
